DEVI VISWANATHAN (She/Her)
MFT GRADUATE STUDENT INTERN
I’m a graduate student at Seattle Pacific University, pursuing Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Originally from India, I did my Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering at P.S.G. College of Technology in India. After spending a couple of decades in the tech industry, I embarked on an inner journey of self-introspection to find greater purpose, and decided to pursue my aspiration to enable others’ emotional and mental wellbeing.
Prior to making this career shift, I volunteered at a nonprofit meditation center in various capacities as well as established a daily meditation practice that serves as my mental anchor. Apart from raising my own kids, I’ve also worked with children in different settings including schools and non-profit.
I am passionate about supporting couples whether they are embarking on the marital journey or adjusting to the joys and challenges of new parenthood, with a particular interest in helping people of color and immigrant families from the eastern culture. In addition, I’m also drawn to topics related to career work life balance, life transitions, parenting and multicultural challenges.
My approach to therapy is grounded in genuine human connection and experiential understanding. I strive to create a safe and accepting environment where you can slow down, explore your inner world, and come to know yourself more fully. In our work together, I listen with openness and curiosity, respecting your experiences, your pace, and your unique way of making sense of things. In this space, all parts of you are welcome!
