THE INTERSECTION OF RACIALIZED TRAUMA AND SPIRITUAL ABUSE

This virtual presentation explores how systemic racism, historical oppression, and harmful religious practices can contribute to chronic stress, psychological distress, diminished trust in institutions, and adverse mental health outcomes for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPoC). The workshop is designed to help mental health service providers understand the ways social and religious systems can influence emotional well-being and community health. The workshop is grounded in trauma-informed principles that encourage self-awareness, reflection, and recognition of the physiological and emotional impacts of oppression.
This training has been approved for 1.5 CEs for Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Social Workers and associate level licenses. WMHCA Provider 2615.
