ANDERS SODERQUIST, LMHCA (He/Him)

ASSOCIATE LICENSED THERAPIST

Relationships impact us – some leave lasting pain, and others foster healing and transformation. These relationships, memories and stories shape us into who we are, but they do not determine who we can be. In therapy I hope to offer a safe-enough space where we can explore these stories with curiosity, compassion and honesty – opening up room for new ways of relating to form.

I work with adults and couples navigating a wide range of experiences. As an adoptee myself, I have a particular interest in adoption, and I welcome both adoptees and adoptive parents exploring questions of identity, belonging, loss, and family. I enjoy working with young adults in the middle of life transitions, as they move between new contexts in work, education and everyday life. I also work with people living with depression and anxiety, couples, and neurodivergent individuals including those with ADHD and autism.

I received a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology which trained me in the psychodynamic therapeutic approach. This means I’m interested in how our histories and relationships shape the way we experience ourselves and others today, often in ways we’re unaware of. My work is also informed by somatic, person-centered, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and existential traditions. In practice, that might mean noticing what’s happening in your body, building practical skills to manage anxiety, getting to know the different parts of you that pull in different directions, or making room for the bigger questions of meaning and purpose that often sit underneath our struggles.

I aim to be honest, warm, supportive, and collaborative as we enter into the work of therapy together, journeying toward healing and transformation.
